I'm going for my driving license today. For those of you who live in the states and don't know about Canada's graduated license system, I have already had the first part of my license that lets me drive around, but only as long as I have a fully licensed driver with something like five years of experience sitting beside me in the front, and has a whole lot of other requirements and extreme beatdown. The license that I'll be moving to has far more severe beatdown to someone who is under 21, which I am not anymore, so I think I can drive just like a normal person would...which sort of defeats the purpose in this part of the drivers license puzzle.

In any case, the reason that this is important, and the reason that I have a little bit more pressure put onto my shoulders to pass is because I was nominated to be the driver to Anime North, the Anime convention that I'll be going to in a week from now, and since I won't have a fully licensed driver with me at all (at least not to my knowledge) that means if I don't pass we need to figure something else out.

Luckily for me, the stress of the situation hasn't yet hit me, so if we can hold out for another 2 and a half hours, I'll be fine, because by then I'll be done the test and will know if I passed or not.

What I'm worried about mostly is the stall parking that I'm going to have to do (that is where you back into a parking spot) it is, without a doubt, one of the most difficult things that I'm going to be expected to do on my test, since I'm told they aren't going to test me on parallel parking (which should be the case because I've been on the test track and there is nowhere to parallel park on it) but is actually worse.

Parallel parking is easy. There is a simple equation for it. Pull up next to car in front, then I believe it is like one turn right, two turns left, and then pull forward a little bit. Problem solved. Stall parking involves me backing up into a spot and taking a leap of faith that the people around me have been intelligent enough to park properly, which, because no one ever employs stall parking after they have their license, means even more chronic butthurt for me, because the way you are supposed to measure your stall parking is based on the mirrors of the drivers on either side of you, lining everything up so it is right. You can't do that if the douche is facing the other direction.

The three point turn also concerns me, since from my experience on that part of the track is that that part of the track is actually much wider than a normal road. The reason this is difficult is because the last time I did it there I ended up doing what I guess could be qualified as a two point turn where I ended up in the wrong lane, and I'm told that is wrong.

For those of you who think that what I'm doing here is lashing out emotionally for no reason about something that is completely unfounded...you're wrong. I arrived the half an hour early, just like I was told to, and I sat down and watched as the person who was driving with my tester before me, a female was told to stall park between a car an an open space. If I had been told to stall part between a car and an open space he wouldn't have been able to tell me that my stall parking was the problem, and as a result would have had to have failed me on something else, like on my lane changes because he decided that because I wasn't pulling an exorcist move where my head turns all the way around that I wasn't looking over my shoulder to check my blind spot. Lucky me.

In any case, as a result of failing, I'm not allowed to take my test again for 10 days, which means I don't get to be the driver next weekend for Anime North, which I suppose I should have foreseen, because, after all, how could anything in my life actually work out in a way that anything turned out good. I think I'm going to go play Wii boxing for the rest of the day and take out my rage on polygon people.
