It's the tobi mask!

This is made with paper mache and liquid tempera paint (which I think may have been a mistake since I'm having some trouble with the pain cracking) There are something like 8 or 9 layers of paper mache, and we have 5 or 6 coats of paint on this bugger. The lines were drawn with some mad sharpie skills.

This is step one in my Tobi cosplay. Next is the akatsuki cloak.

For those who are interested...

This took me 3 days to do. The mask was made by applying paper mache to the outside of a balloon (because that's how the hard core people do it) I also had a little bit of a disaster when the mask decided that it wanted to bend inward where I'll be wearing it, which was fixed when I cleverly inflated a second balloon inside of the mask where the first balloon had been. It still suffers from some folding, but as a result it hugs to my face a little bit better. I am going to switch out the band that I had on the back for something that isn't a nylon sock.

I think my mask might be the wrong shape, since I believe mine might be a bit more round than Tobi's actual mask, however I justify this by mentioning that it has to cover my entire face, and with the way it is now there is enough space between my eye and the eye hole that I won't need to put anything there to keep my eye from being seen, which is actually one step more awesome than some of the masks that I've seen, since they either had visible eyes, or had to put fabric over the eye hole to hide the eye.

The difficulty that I am going to face in this costume is being able to see. One of my friends is going to guide me around while I'm wearing the mask...hopefully. Don't be a pair of douches you guys...then again, if I wander around and bump into things for long enough some girls might decide that I'm cute and helpless like a puppy, which I suppose could be good...maybe you guys should let me wander around without being able to see.

Haha, wow man pretty cool. I have a cloak btw, a very nice one ;p
Can't wait to see how the cloak comes out (not a fan of dressing up me self, but always fun to look at others! xD)

By the way, which con is it? Me and Ruke may go if we can arrange it.

I'm going to start work on mine next week. The internets gave me a good idea about how to make one.

I think my mask might be wrong, but I'm not sure. We'll find out this weekend when I get my haircut.
